the choc-top experience.

Poem: Oh my-a, my-a, its July-a, how does your garden grow? -a joseph original.

Half of the year? Where, has it gone?!

I'm pretty sure ive done nothing wrong. ive lied, laughed, lived, cried, kissed, loved, fought, sung, danced, drank, smiled, been taken, changed, made comments, blogged (hehe), argued, contemplated, and now reflected.. amongst other things, i'm sure.

Anyway, it was my pops birthday on Sunday/today.. He is a 61 year old, with a full head of black hair. God bless my genes! Despite my hiccup-baldspot, i know the destiny for my scalp! Happy Birthday Father!

We went out for dinner on Sunday for La Birthday, had a feast at La Porchetta; went through the motions of eating my food, and any leftovers.

Now for dessert... being the untamed stallion that i am, i went against the flow of ordering a desert at LaPorchetta, and went to Hoyts over to next door and bought myself a Vanilla Choc-Top!

She smiled and said to me "Enjoy your movie!".. I strutted away from the cinema, looked back and said "Babe, The choc-top's all i'm after!" .. didn't actually happen. but i was thinking along those lines..

The point of this story is..

Life is like a box of choc...tops!

You can either be carefree, or careless, when you indulge yourself in its simple pleasures... Let me explain..

To be careless, is: To be a total moron and eat your choc-top without restraint and without boundary. Then once the movie is finished you'll find yourself in a total mess. Chocolate stained clothes. and ice cream where you least expect.

Or you can take precautionary measures beforehand, and be carefree... Plan out the course of action and reap the benefits. Your goal to watch the entire movie, at the same time as enjoying your Choc-top. You'll always come out on top, relatively unscathed, and pleasantly rewarded.

orr tings eshun.

English translation:
All Things Asian.

Well, okay.. here we go, my secret to the best dumplings, best ramen, and quality asian food in general...

Here's the secret:
Live in Box Hill (or the east)

So should you ever come down to the east side.. you'll know where to eat.. cause Box Hill is lined with at least 20 Chinese restaurants, 1 la porchetta, 1 mcdonalds. It's slim pickings... so pick wisely..

Best Noodlesoups
The Ramen King

Downstairs foodcourt,
Box Hill Shopping Centre.

The Ramen King is a bold statement.. to claim that he is king of ramen, is too bold to comprehend... but he has nothing to be ashamed of...I bow down to his handmade noodles, generous servings, and quick service.
"All hail the Ramen King... Huzzah!!"

Best Dumplings

Best Food Gallery
Station St, Box Hill

Best Food Gallery - That's another bold statement. These asians don't back down man! They hardkaww men! But once agian, the dumplings are freakin' awesome... So good that my sisters, their kids & I, eat here, all the time. If you do go, tell them Joseph says "Hi!"

(N.B. Next time you're in Box Hill, call me.. i'll shout you lunch!)

Best Japanese
Sushi Express
Centro (Whitehorse Plaza), Shop 68, Box Hill

As quick as their name and service is, Sushi Express can not be mistaken for rushed food. You can definitely taste the love in every bite.. Be it Sushi or their bento boxes, or rice dishes (i.e Katsudon).. or my personal Friday favourite.. "Calamari Bento"... mm.. Sounds disgusting to some.. so screw them :) I love it, thats why i will go back again this week, and every week after that.

Oh, and the people that serve: are actually Japanese (for once). Not another asian culture posing as Japanese.

Well thats all for Food review's today... til' next time food lovers.
